Draft. This was written by the site’s developer from what the site actually does. It hasn’t been checked by a lawyer, and the highlighted parts still need deciding.
The short version of what’s expected, both ways. Last updated 18 September 2026.
Ciname is a private, invitation-only site for keeping track of films, television, anime, manga and books. Signing up does not give you access — the owner approves each account by hand, and may decline without giving a reason.
Your comments, lists and messages remain yours. By posting them you allow the site to store and display them to the people entitled to see them.
Do not post anything unlawful, abusive or hateful, anything that harasses another member, or anything you do not have the right to share. Do not upload images you do not own the rights to.
Titles, cover art, descriptions and release dates come from TMDB, AniList, Open Library and Google Books, and belong to them or to the original rights holders. They are shown here for reference. Ciname does not host or stream any film, show or book.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. The owner may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, and may close the site entirely — in which case you would be given reasonable notice to export your data.
This is a personal project offered as-is. It may be unavailable, lose data, or show wrong information from the services it draws on. Keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose — the Export button in Settings produces one.
These terms are governed by the laws of TO FILL IN — the country or region whose law applies, usually where you live.
